January 31, 2014 – Sao Paulo, Brazil. On January 27, both Co-chairs and members of the Executive Multistakeholder Committee met with the Secretariat’s Executive Director to conduct their first meeting where the agenda, the participation criteria, the meeting format and the content contributions were discussed.
The committee reached consensus on the thematic axes “Internet Governance Principles” and “Roadmap for the future evolution of the Internet governance ecosystem”. It was agreed that both agenda topics will be discussed during the meeting in the same physical space to avoid parallel sessions. A basic tentative schedule was discussed and will be announced in the official website www.netmundial.org soon.
There will be a way for the interested persons/institutions to inform their “expression of interest” in the website throughout the month of February. Participation will be open, taking in account that there is a limit of available seats. The committee will commit to criteria that assure a truly multistakeholder and regional balance among all the interested parties. The meeting will also offer remote participation possibilities in all UN official languages plus Portuguese.
The Executive Multistakeholder Committee planned two additional face-to-face meetings in early March and early April. A teleconference call will be scheduled as necessary.

About the Global Multistakeholder Meeting on the Future of Internet Governance
This meeting will focus on crafting Internet governance principles and proposing a roadmap for the further evolution of the Internet governance ecosystem. The meeting is scheduled for April 23rd and 24th 2014 in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be live webcast enabling remote participation. The meeting follows an initiative proposed by CGI.br and /1net.
